Not your traditional jazz band, Hamer and Isaacs play authentic hot swinging gypsy jazz from the 30s, in a style reminiscent of the legendary Django Reinhardt, Stephane Grappelli and the Hot Club of France. So if you’re looking to add a sophisticated ambience to your soiree, drinks reception, a glamorous dinner, or are having a themed ‘French Night’, then there’s no better accompaniment!
Named around its two guitarists (Rich Hamer and Julian Isaacs), the band is fronted by gorgeous singer Rosie Corlett, whose ability to sing in both French and English, gives the band a distinctly European flavour. Virtuoso violinist, Mel Brindle (leader of the viola section for Plymouth Symphony Orchestra), lends authenticity to the band’s gypsy sound with her unmistakable tone and unique swinging style - and the line-up is completed by multi-talented Howard Kahn, on double bass.
Hamer and Isaacs have performed at numerous swanky events, inclduing Dawn French's own home, where they received a warm reception from Dawn and her celebrity guests, including comedy icons Ade Edmondson and Jennifer Saunders, world famous Chef Rick Stein, and numerous others.
