Emma Granger – exquisite harp playing

Emma is currently one of two principal harpists at London’s esteemed Royal Opera House. She began playing at the age of 11 and reached the semi-finals of two BBC ‘Young Musician of the Year’ competitions, 1984 and 1986. She read music at New College, Oxford then undertook a postgraduate course at the Royal College of Music. She has given numerous recitals throughout the UK and played with the Royal Ballet Sinfonia, the Bolshi and Moscow festival Ballets.

Her vast repertoire includes beautiful classical pieces such as Pachabel’s ‘Canon’. Beethoven’s ‘Moonlight Sonata’ and the traditional ‘Greensleeves’, through to popular songs from the shows of Lloyd Webber, Gershwin and Cole Porter. Emma may be engaged to appear as a solo artiste or as part of a duo, accompanied by the very talented flautist, Claire Bentley.
